Notes from this episode:
Are you struggling with your writing organization? Well, we’ve got some practical tips to help you overcome those challenges and get more writing done.
Organize your writing space
Let’s talk about your writing space. Clutter can cause stress and hinder your creativity. Set a timer for 25 minutes using the Pomodoro technique and clear your writing space. This will help you find your materials easily and provide a more focused writing environment. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes!
Organize your digital files
Don’t forget about your digital files. It’s easy to let them become chaotic, making it hard to find what you need. Consider organizing your digital files using a specific system to remove chaos and make it easier to locate your documents. Implementing a numerical system for files can be very helpful and setting up a folder for your current project is a good start. It will make your writing process much smoother.
Organize your calendar
Take a good look at your calendar. Block out dedicated writing time like you would a doctor’s appointment. Consider setting aside themed days or organizing similar tasks in similar chunks of time to maintain control of your calendar. It’s essential to learn to say “no” more often in order to create boundaries and safeguard your writing time. Treat your writing commitment like a doctor’s appointment. Block it off on your calendar, communicate it to your family, and defend this time.
The goal is to help you get organized, be focused, and get more writing done, so that you can finally finish your book and impact lives with the message you’ve been given.
