Notes from this episode:
How can January book sales benefit authors after the holiday season? January can be a great time for book sales, especially considering that people often receive Kindles or other reading devices as Christmas gifts.
Additionally, many people receive gift cards or money that they may want to spend on books. It’s an opportunity to reach new readers and increase book sales.
Here are a few ideas to consider for boosting your book sales in January:
#1: Special Promotions
January is a month full of readers who have received Kindles or other reading devices as Christmas gifts. Many of them also have gift cards or extra cash burning a hole in their pockets, eagerly waiting to be spent on books.
This creates the perfect scenario for running special promotions.
Consider offering a 99¢ Kindle ebook, a buy one, get one deal, or providing a unique bonus to enhance the reading experience. Get creative and think about what would attract and engage your target audience.
#2: Email Swaps
If you have an established email list of at least 50 subscribers, why not reach out to another author and propose an email swap? Collaboration is such a powerful tool in our writing journey. By featuring each other’s books in your respective email newsletters, you expand your reach and connect with new readers who may be interested in your work.
It’s a win-win situation for both parties involved
#3: Amazon Ads
Have you considered delving into the world of Amazon ads? With people flocking to Amazon to use their gift cards or load up their Kindles, it’s an opportune time to explore this marketing avenue. While competition may vary, Amazon ads have proven effective for many authors, providing a valuable way to cut through the clutter and reach your target readers.
If you have the resources, allocate a portion of your book profits to invest in Amazon ads and amplify your visibility.
As we step into the upcoming year, filled with fresh inspiration and renewed dedication, let’s remember to seek God’s guidance on this journey.
Take a moment to pray and ask for direction, asking God to lead you to reach more readers and impact lives through your writing.
