Notes from this episode:
In this story of Jesus healing a blind man in Mark 8:22-26, it seems as if this was a two-part miracle where the blind man’s sight was gradually restored. After Jesus lays his hands on the man’s eyes the first time, the man says he can see people but they look like trees walking around. So Jesus places his hands on the man a second time and completes the miracle.
In our own journey as Kingdom Writers, sometimes it seems as though we are seeing things like trees walking around. We don’t always receive the instant clarity that we would like. Like the blind man, Jesus may give us gradual clarity as we continue trusting his methods and timing for our writing.
This story also reminds us that our spiritual journey is a process of sanctification rather than instant maturity or clarity. In the end, we will look back and see God’s perfect plans for our lives.
“Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.” – 1 Corinthians 13:12 (NLT)

ELIZABETH L ZACHARIAS says
I am working through the editing process of my novel. I am working to make the descriptions better but have been struggling. Someone recommended that I read a fiction book by someone whose writing I respect. I chose a book by Madeline L’Engle, Many Waters. Her descriptions are soo good. I just started reading this book again. I am feeling inspired as I read her book again with fresh eyes. Then I watched this video and it is speaking to me along the same lines about having eyes to see clearly and sometimes gradually. That is how I have felt. Now, it seems that through this I can see that God understands how I have been feeling. He is working a way through this so that I can write my novel with vetter descriptive phrases. I can do it.

I love this Elizabeth!
