Feeling Out of Place?
Have you ever found yourself in the midst of a big group of people and still had those feelings of loneliness rise up out of nowhere?
I know I have.
For a long time now, I’ve felt like I don’t fit in. I’m not “normal.” LOL
Part of this comes from being a business owner and author. I don’t have a normal 9 to 5 job and most people can’t relate.
Some of it comes from never having children (although we tried). Most people my age (41) are busy raising their families now while I’m busy giving birth to new books.
Some of it just comes from life.
Recently, I was feeling disconnected again. A local mastermind I’ve been part of dissolved (on good terms) and I knew I needed some deeper connection again.
Maybe a prayer partner.
A mastermind.
Something.
I began to pray about it and God brought someone specific to my mind. My first reaction was, “No, she’s too busy and I don’t want to bother her.”
But, the prompting kept coming back. So, I finally reached out to her and suggested a few ways we could connect deeper.
And guess what? We will be chatting on the phone today! Woo Hoo!
I’m not sure what the outcome will be yet, but she is interested and I’m excited.
Reaching Out
If you’re feeling lonely as an author, I suggest you reach out.
- Start a prayer team.
- Reach out to someone for accountability.
- Join a coaching group like Author Audience Academy. (We will be re-opening our doors soon).
- Invest in one-on-one coaching.
I still have a few spots open for one-on-one coaching. This is perfect if you are ready to make writing a priority and finally get your book done! Find our more here: TrainingAuthors.com/coaching or reply to this email so we can chat about it.
Many times our fears, doubts, and insecurities can keep us from reaching out or investing in the next step.
What is the ONE thing you’ve felt prompted to do, but haven’t done it yet?
