The end of the year is the perfect time to reflect back on all you have accomplished. Shelley and I have been doing that. So in this post, I wanted to share some of our successes with you.
Things we have accomplished in 2014
Shelley established Body and Soul Publishing LLC
We launched the Training Authors store this summer and set up our members area
Instead of having each product available with a different login, now all of our products and training material is available in our Training Authors store and under one login. Making it easier for authors to access the information they need. We also revamped the way we present our material making it available in the best possible format for authors to access on their terms. You can check it out here.
Shelley attended her first live networking event (NAMS) followed by others
The power of networking with other authors is HUGE! You can read more about this here.
I booked and conducted my first solo speaking gigs.
It was scary, but I am excited about the new doors that have been opened to me. I will even be speaking at a conference this coming summer, and Shelley has booked and appeared in multiple events as well. You can find out more about Shelley and I’s speaking engagements here.
We completed our group coaching program, the Sell More Books 30-Day Challenge
This was huge for us. It took a ton of work, but it was so worth it! We will be able to continue making it available to authors and helping them sell more books. You can find out more about it here.
Shelley launched the Books, Business, and Beyond podcast with Kristen Joy Eckstein
Shelley is great at podcasting and she has been wanting to start one for a while. Check it out here.
We updated a lot of out-of-date material
In 2013 we discontinued all of our products. They were completely out of date. In 2014 we worked on updating, recording, and re-publishing a ton of our training material so it could be available to help authors again. This is one of the reasons we needed the Training Authors store.
I started a new website and started building a new author platform for a new genre of books I have been writing
This was huge for me. It’s still a work in progress as my main focus has been training authors, however I’m looking forward to working more with it in 2015. You can check out my jumpstart checklist for new authors (or new platforms) here.
Shelley published her first children’s book and together we published over 10 books this year
We passed 1,000 followers on Facebook and YouTube.
One of our focuses this year was building our following and it really spiked at the end of 2014 helping us accomplish our goal and it continues to climb. If you aren’t already connected with us on social media, you can find the links in the sidebar ==>
Our 2014 Gratitude List
Gratitude is big to us. Shelley even has a whole book series on gratitude, so this post wouldn’t be complete with out us sharing what we were most grateful for in 2014.
- Relationships built through live events
- Being able to relaunch our own products, create our first live group coaching program, and launch one-on-one coaching and done-for-you services.
- New opportunities (speaking, coaching, group coaching, etc.)
- Clarity and direction – making plans, clarifying goals, and the like has been a huge blessing for us.
- Flexibility – the ability to schedule around our lives and our needs.
- Mind maps. Mind maps have transformed our business in 2014 and helped us outline our books, projects and more. Find out more here.
- Our following (that’s you!). We couldn’t have done anything this year without your support. We are so thankful for you!
