What do you want to know about Facebook Live, or live video broadcasting before you go live the first time?
I have been live broadcasting online since June 5th, 2015. So, it’s been about a year that I’ve been doing this consistently, and hundreds of videos later, hours of recordings later, I’ve learned a lot about broadcasting on live video.
I’m going to start sharing these tips with you! I’m going to be doing a free challenge, a free live video challenge, starting this next week and you can sign up for free at ShelleyHitz.com/LiveVideo.

Live Video Challenge – Are You In?
This past Friday morning I decided, “I’m going to email my list and ask them to let me know if a live video challenge is something they want me to create.” I got back over 50 responses within hours and so I know that this is something that you want me to do.
Now, I didn’t intend to go live with this challenge this quickly, but I was looking at my calendar and I have a week of vacation coming up, I have another promotion coming up, and I realized it’s going to be now or it’s going to wait a while.
The goal is that by the end of these five days you will have the tools, the tips, and the strategies to go live on Facebook much more strategically and effectively.
What is it you want to know about live video?
What is holding you back? What gets you stuck with recording video? What makes you think that you can’t do it?
Make sure to sign up at ShelleyHitz.com/LiveVideo where you’ll get access to my member area with my 17-page checklist and all the replays of the training videos.

Overcoming Fear and Perfectionism
A lot of people tell me, “I’m scared,” or, “I’m just timid,” or, “I don’t know what I’m going to say,” or,” what if I mess up?”
The perfectionism will paralyze.
My live broadcasts are not perfect, they’re just not. I have a lot of little bloopers or things that happen.
I don’t know if any of you were on my Live Facebook broadcast when everything came tumbling down on me. I had a shorter microphone cord at the time and I went to write on my easel and the microphone pulled and everything literally came tumbling down. I’m still laughing at that. I was like, “oh my goodness! Who does this? When does this happen?” I recovered and it was fine.
Another time I was doing a live video, and this time I was doing it on Periscope. It was an unboxing of my printed proof of my book. I went to the door and it was real dramatic, I said, “here’s the package from CreateSpace,” and I went and opened the package, and it was some crazy, Japanese book. It was the wrong book and it was all recorded on live video.
So there’s going to be times that things just happen, but you just have to laugh at yourself.
Reach More People With Your Message
- Do you want to reach more people with your message?
- Do you want to be able to offer your expertise?
- Who out there needs what you have to share?
Are you letting fear and perfectionism stop you from delivering that message to more people?
I encourage you to ask God for wisdom, ask him for courage, and be willing to do this, be willing to take a risk.
Those who have great results and are successful, typically are willing to take risks, they’re willing to put themselves out there, they’re willing to do things that other people are not willing to do.
There is a statistic on Periscope—it was one of the first live streaming apps, and I started on Periscope—only 1% of all users every broadcasted live. So, if you start broadcasting live, and you do it in the way that I teach you, where you are delivering amazing content, you’re connecting with your audience, you’re providing value to your target audience, guess what? You’re going to be ahead of 99% of your competition, most likely.
You’re going to be ahead of so many other people, you’re going to have a way to get more visibility—right now Facebook if favoring live video ten times more than any other content. It’s a way that you can get more exposure, and guess what, for free!
Let’s Do This!
I encourage you , really dig deep, you can do this, we’re going to do it together, it’s going to be a group thing, you’re going to have the support of each other, you’re not doing this alone, you can do this, I’m excited for you, I know there are people waiting to hear what you have to share and waiting to connect with you. I’m excited to walk you through this challenge.
Live video is such a powerful opportunity right now.
I know that it’s not going to be for everyone, and I totally get that. Some of you are going to say, “Shelley, no way, no, no, no way.”
But, what if you stepped out of your comfort zone, what if you did this, what if you took this risk?
The purpose of this five day live video challenge is to take you through the steps to prepare you to go live. I’m going to challenge you to take action, and by the end of the five days, to go live. I want to see how many of you are willing to do this. Let’s do it together, let’s support each other, and let’s just dive in.
My First Live Broadcast
I remember when I did my very first video on Periscope, I had no idea how it worked, I had no idea what I was doing, and I remember I was just sitting in my recliner in my living room thinking, “OK. If I’m going to wait until I feel ready, or until I feel like I know everything, I’m probably never going to do this.”
So I just did it.
I didn’t have any makeup on, I wasn’t dressed up or anything, because we were getting ready to go camping, and I simply did it. I dove in, and I learned as I went.
Learn the Shortcuts, Tips and Strategies
Guess what? You get a lot of the shortcuts. I’m going to give you a lot of the tips and strategies and things so that you don’t just have to figure it out as you go. You can have a lot of confidence going into your first live broadcast.
I’m so excited to do this for you.
I’m excited to see the “ah ha!” moments.
I’m excited to see the breakthroughs through fear.
We’re going to create some really positive momentum. As a group we’re going to be doing this together, we’re going to be going through this together, and I’m excited for you to join us.
