WHY, oh why, would I take on a SECOND podcast? LOL
I already stay very busy with my podcast for authors, “Author Audience.”
However, here are 3 reasons I decided to launch a new podcast.
If you’ve been following me the last couple of month, you have probably heard me talk about my upcoming book project, “Broken Crayons Still Color.
This is my passion project and is scheduled to launch 11/11/16. This is as long as everything goes well with the final publishing details.
As I was writing this book, I realized it was not just about me and my story. It was about your story too.
I believe it was God who prompted me to also release a new podcast along with the book. It has the same title, “Broken Crayons Still Color.”
In this podcast, I will share interviews that contain inspiring stories of hope and healing.
So here are the three reasons why I’m launching a new podcast.
Reason #1: To Share Others’ Stories
In my book, I share several of my stories. But I wanted a resource for my readers that would contain many more stories they can relate to.
My target audience is Christian women and they do tend to listen to podcasts. There are many Christian inspirational podcasts on iTunes that are very popular. So this is another platform where I can connect to my audience.
My #1 goal for this passion project is to glorify God and allow Him to impact lives through it. Therefore, that is my primary reason for investing the time, money, and resources into a new podcast.
I don’t have a specific publishing plan for this podcast as it will be evergreen content. So I will simply publish new episodes as they come in.
Reason #2: To Market My Book
Through the podcast, I share a call to action to join my email list for free gifts. This will introduce them to my book and allow me to follow-up with them.
I also share audio excerpts of the videos that correspond with the book on the podcast. This may get them interested in the group study option that is available with my book.
Reason #3: To Publish More Books
Once I decided to do the podcast, my wheels started turning more. I was thinking of how I could use the content to reach even more people.
I decided to have the interviews transcribed and will use the transcripts in follow-up devotional books. I have the basic format I want to use. So with some editing should have several other books published in the series simply from the podcast interviews.
A Gift for You
The podcast just went live this week. In order to gain visibility in the new and noteworthy section of iTunes, we need more people to subscribe, download and review the podcast.
If you are willing to subscribe and review my new podcast, “Broken Crayons Still Color”, do it THIS WEEK (ends 11/1/16). If you do so, I will send you my $97 training, “Promo Payoff” for free.
This product is no longer available to purchase separately (it is a bonus inside Author Audience Academy). However, you can see all the templates and fill-in-the-blank content you will get for marketing your book here. This resource will help you as you plan your holiday promotions.
