I have personally been using this system for hosting a webinar with Google Hangouts for months now and LOVE it! It’s super easy and the only thing you need to pay for is LeadPages.
I show you step-by-step in this video tutorial how to set up a webinar with Google+ Hangouts and LeadPages.
Get started with LeadPages here.
Step one: Create your LeadPage for the live webinar
Step two: Create your Google+ Hangout event
Step three: Embed the video on your LeadPage
Step four: Create a Chatango chat room (I create a new one for each webinar)
Step five: Embed your Chatango chat room on your LeadPage
Step six: Save and publish your LeadPage
Of course, if you are collecting new leads for your webinar, you’ll also need your webinar registration page and webinar confirmation page. I use LeadPages for both of those pages as well.
Even if you don’t use LeadPages, you can still use this process and embed the Google+ video and Chatango chat room on any page. I like using LeadPages because it makes it super easy for me and they host the page.
I had a horror experience once hosting the webinar on my website. So many people were trying to access the webinar at once (good thing, right?) that it crashed my server. Ugh. That’s why I usually use the LeadPages hosted URL for my webinars. Better to be safe, than sorry, especially when hosting promotions for a paid product.
Lesson learned!
