Recently, I made sales on autopilot without knowing where exactly they came from. Once I figured out what happened, I thought “wow, this is so cool! I have to share this information.”
Today, I will teach you one of the ways that I got a 13% conversion rate without actually selling.

The 13% Conversion rate
I have been reverse engineering my success so I can teach the strategies that have worked for me to other authors.
I was amazed when I recently saw more sign ups than normal for Writing Week. It is a free seven day writing challenge that I created for authors.
So I went to check inside Google Analytics to see who was driving traffic to my site. And I found out that I had a 13 percent conversion rate without actually selling anything.
It was sales on autopilot.
Ways to Get Sales Without Selling
What I realized is I was being featured on a tele-summit.
Honestly, I forgot that I was even part of this tele-summit until I saw all these sign ups to WritingWeek.com, a free seven day writing challenge for authors.
Speaking Engagements
Speaking is one of the best ways to sell products and books.
Through public speaking people get to know you. They hear your passion, your enthusiasm, and your expertise.
So whether you are speaking for free online, like a tele-summit, being interviewed on a podcast, on a webinar, or whether you’re doing a live event, speaking works.
Offer Something of Amazing Value
You want to have an amazing free offer that you can share.
For example:
“Sign up for WritingWeek.com, you’ll get a $27 software inside Writing Week. You’ll get over 70 writing affirmations, PDFs that you can download, that you can post around and read before you go on a writing session. You’ll get the excel spreadsheet, the word document, the PDF of my writing journal; you’ll get so much stuff. People have actually finished first drafts of their book in WritingWeek.com.”
That was an amazing offer for those who sign up for the WritingWeek.com.
I love sharing this resource!
It’s a great way for writers to get to know, like, and trust me.
Some writers have finished tens of thousands of words. They have finished first drafts. Those are just a few of the results they get within Writing Week.
So how did I get sales on autopilot?
On this particular tele-summit I didn’t sell. I didn’t even give a sales pitch.
I simply gave a ton of value in the interview and then I directed them to my free seven day writing challenge, WritingWeek.com.
What happens is when someone signs up, they get a time-limited offer on the thank you page to upgrade for the full 30 days for only $10.
Some marketers call it a tripwire offer.
13% of the visitors who came and signed up for WritingWeek.com bought the 30 day challenge.
I didn’t sell. I wasn’t being pushy or self-promotional. I was simply teaching and sharing my passion.
I was simply getting out there and getting exposure to a new audience on this tele-summit which gave me the opportunity to introduce an amazing value at WritingWeek.com for free.
And I started getting sales! It was awesome.
I am now putting together a complete system for authors who want to get sales on their books and their products on an automated basis.
I will be rolling that out in the next few months in AuthorAudienceAcademy.com. So if you’re an Author Audience Academy member stay tuned.
If you want to have sales that are coming in even when you’re not expecting it, I would love to help you set it up.
